About Me

I have deep affection for the Comox Valley.  My wife and I are high school sweethearts, both born and raised here.  I was the country kid raising chickens in Seal Bay and she was a big city Courtenay girl who had the coveted cable tv.  We made the decision to build our lives here, raise our two daughters, and I have no regrets about it.  The Comox Valley has enriched our lives with wonderful friendships, family, and unforgettable experiences.   Well, thinking about it, I do regret selling my awesome lime green 1977 VW campervan but that’s another story.

Before transitioning into real estate, my background included working as a history teacher and school administrator. I also had the opportunity to serve on Courtenay City Council and the Comox Valley Regional District. Additionally, I had the honor of representing the Comox Valley as our MLA in Victoria and serving as a provincial cabinet minister in three different portfolios. Drawing from my experiences in education and politics, I am dedicated to providing you with the information you need to make informed decisions, whether you are buying or selling a property.

My experience, expertise, and lifetime enthusiasm for the community will be an asset as you embark on your next property decision.  I look forward to listening to your needs and helping you navigate the sometimes complex and confusing world of real estate.

Remember, ‘every neighbourhood has its story,’ let’s meet to chat more about your next chapter.

About Deanne

I'm Deanne McRae and I'm happy to share a bit about myself. I'm pleased to be in my new position as Don’s real estate assistant (unlicensed.) Think of me as the "Director of Details." My role includes administrative support, transaction coordination, and marketing assistance. However, the part of the job that gets me most excited is client relations. Ensuring an enjoyable and stress-free experience for our clients is important to me. I strive to ensure clients feel appreciated and supported.  I want to give our clients the peace of mind knowing they are being taken care of each step along the way.

My professional background includes client care positions at The Sid Williams Theatre and local recreation centers.  I also served in a coordinator position at two community non-profit organizations:  YANA and The Evergreen Club. And to round out my resume (besides position of Mom) I have 17 years of business experience running two retail shops in Downtown Courtenay.
